Dutch church tower beats Pisa’s as the most leaning tower in Europe

August 29, 2008

The Dutch town of Bedum hosts a very special 12th-century building that has a tower which beats the record holded by the Pisa’s tower.

Dispite the difference of height (55.86 for Pisa’s and 35.7 for Bedum’s tower) the Bedum’s tower beats the pisa by 6 cm if they were the same height. But at the current heights Pisa’s tower leans 4 meters as Bedum’s tower leans 2.61 meters. The outcome of this situation is that the pisa’s tower leans less than the Bedum’s making the Bedum’s tower the tower that leans the most in Europe.
