“Magic mushroom” is expected to cure cancer

Extracts of the fungus Phellinus linteus that in the wild grows on mulberry trees and that is widely used in Japan, Korea and China for medicinal purposes may help fight cancer by slowing the growth of tumors and starving them of blood.

Extracts of this fungus have been used for centuries in Eastern Ancient medicine where it’s thought to have the power to rejuvenate and extend life.

Recent studies have indicated that the mushroom has the ability of holding back the growth of skin, lung and prostate cancer cells. Researchers also believe that this mushroom increases the amount of prostate cancer cells killed by the chemotherapy drug doxorubicin.

Scientists working with breast cancer at Indianapolis’ Methodist Research Institute found evidence that this mushroom blocks the activity of an enzyme called AKT which control signals that lead to cancer cells growth and the development of new blood vessels around them; blood vessels that are vital for the cancer cell survival.

Dr. Daniel Silva, lead researcher of the study published on the 15 April of 2008 issue of the British Journal of Cancer said: “The anti-cancer properties of this type of mushroom have been recently investigated by scientists using various types of cancer cells.

“We saw a number of positive results from our investigation on aggressive human breast cancer cells, including a lower rate of uncontrolled growth of new cancer cells, suppression of their aggressive behaviour and the formation of fewer blood vessels that feed cancer cells essential nutrients.”

“We’re not yet able to apply this knowledge to modern medicine, but we’re excited that we can begin to explain how this ancient medicine works by acting on specific molecules.

“We hope our study will encourage more researchers to explore the use of medicinal mushrooms for the treatment of cancer.”

However, Dr Lesley Walker, director of cancer information at Cancer Research UK which owns the British Journal of Cancer gave a note of caution saying: “Although natural products have been used to develop many important drugs, there is no guarantee that they are all safe or will be effective in the clinic,” she said.

“The results from this study are interesting, but it’s certainly too early to advise people to stock up on mushrooms. Further research will be needed before we will know if mushroom extracts can be used to treat cancer patients.”

These are not “magic mushrooms”. At least they have no psychoactive properties. Only mushrooms that contain psilocybin produce a psychedelic experience.

There is a research scientist in Central America that cures cancer. He has a clinic. I have personally seen some of the worst cases cured in three to four months; cases where the standard treatments did not work and the patient’s doctors told them there was nothing else that can be done. My daughter was cured of MS this year. After seeing the substance he gives to his patients, I believe the doctor uses this mushroom as part of the preparation he give to his patients. If you want more information, feel free to contact me.

My dear friend has been through 8 years of breast cancer treatment. The last three years have been intense. On 11-12-08, she will undergo an open biopsey and has two options. Cancer, extremely invasive surgery with a prosthesis implanted in her chest to keep her lungs functioning. Not cancer, necrotic tissue treated with nerve blockers and pain meds. I would like to know more about mushroom therapy.

Years ago an acquaintance of mine cured several women who had terminal cancer with magic mushrooms. I’m talking about the kind that are illegal (psilocybe mushrooms). At first, I disregarded the story as nonsense, but I’ve heard the story several times now and I’m starting to become a believer. I don’t have an hour to tell you the whole story, but each woman ate around a pound of mushrooms each within a 2 month period. Both women were written off by the doctors, and had only 3 to 4 months to live.

One crazy part about the whole story was that one of the husbands of one of these women was very upset and confronted the fellow who gave the mushrooms to his wife. However, he wasn’t upset for why you might think. Actually, he was upset, because his wife was going to live. He told this fellow that he was going cash in a million dollar life insurance policy if his wife died, but now he wasn’t going to get the money since she was cured. The woman suposedly left here husband after all this and went on to find a better man. Anyway, I’m sure some people out there are saying bull pucky on this story, but there’s more to the story that would possible make you a believer. Anyway, please don’t try to contact me on this, because I will not try to help anybody use something that is illegal. I just thought that it was a very interesting story that you don’t hear very often or ever for that matter.

    Keep looking for the cure…
